Rooney set to sign new £300,000-a-week United deal

  

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, is reportedly close to penning a new deal with the club, which will see him earn £300,000 a week.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 28-year-old is ready to snub interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid and commit himself to Old Trafford until 2018.
Negotiations have already begun and Rooney’s agent, Paul Stretford, held talks with United’s top officials twice this week and the player is understood to be encouraged by the new contract on the table.
His current £250,000-a-week contract expires in the summer of 2015.
