Creative industry stakeholders will converge at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos on November 26th and 27th, 2013 for the third annual British Council Creative Expo. The theme of the 2013 Creative Expo will be:  “Capacity” – The Building Blocks for a Competitive Creative Economy.  “We want to focus on the vital agenda of lifting the skills, capacity and confidence of talent in the Nigerian creative industries,” said Ojoma Ochai, Assistant Director of the British Council, Nigeria.
The Creative Expo will discuss and debate current measures to develop talent, best practices, case studies and different approaches to building professional, technical and business capacity across the diverse creative industries. On the second day of the Expo, participants will co-create  a strategic plan for growing Nigeria’s creative economy.  “We will explore the different strands of capacity building, from the role of Government to private educational institutions, incubation to enterprise development, sector-led strategies to mentoring and more,” said Nkiru Asika, CEO of Enterprise Creative, producers of the 2013 Creative Expo.
 The Expo will feature a roster of high-level speakers including Mo Abudu, Founder & CEO Ebony Life TV;  Steve Moffitt, CEO, A New Direction, UK; Bunmi Oke, CEO 141 Worldwide & President Advertising Association of Nigeria; Chris Ubosi, CEO Megalectrics;  Nkiru Asika, CEO Enterprise Creative; Folake Folarin-Coker, Creative Director, Tiffany Amber; Jason Njoku, CEO Iroko Partners; Wole Odetayo, CEO Wennovation Hub; Yemisi Ilo, CEO Ileke Media; Joke Silva, award-winning Actress & Co-Founder, Lufodo Academy; Dr Tom Fleming, Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy UK; Sandra Obiago, Founder CFC & Associate Producer Half of a Yellow Sun. More names will be announced as they are confirmed to speak.
The British Council Creative Expo is free to attend, however registration is required.
